More about Christmas trees

The zocalo is filled with poinsettias, here you can see a fraction of the mass. The men sitting on the low wall were watching the agave adventure, too. See the woman in red, lower left of the picture? She belongs to one of the 17 indigenous populations native to the region, all of whom are very poor and mostly uneducated. She will sit here all day, hoping to sell enough to get some food. If she speaks spanish, it's her second language.

Not an agave, but a cactus! This is the Christmas tree in the courtyard at Villa Maria. Maria has spent considerable energy this year decorating the courtyard, a big difference from last year, we hear from some of the regular Snowbirds here. You can see the gold garland, strung along the upstairs balcony...

And, the not-quite-finished Agave Christmas Tree in the hotel lobby. The bloom was carefully unloaded from the truck first, and carried safely inside. It's decorated with some lights and greenery. We'll check again tomorrow, for the finished product.

I wonder HOW they got it inside, and on the stand?
